The protective function of the X-Light protectors.
01. The structure
Our special tee structure is characterised by its recesses. This means that the protector remains flexible and adapts perfectly to any head shape.
02. The impact
During an impact, the elevations of the material are compressed. The speed of the object is slowed down during this process and the impacting forces are damped. This already leads to a first reduction of the impact energy.
03. the distribution of forces
The tee structure is compressed so much on impact that the individual units touch each other and form a closed surface. The impact energy is distributed and absorbed by a larger surface. This causes significant damping and reduces the incoming force by up to 87%.
04. the original posture
After impact, the structure returns to its original shape. Due to the flexible and high-quality material, the protection is not limited after an impact, so that the protector can continue to be used without hesitation.
The X-Light protector
in the test.
What was tested?
Thanks to the professional test lab of our protector manufacturer, none of our team members faced a hail of golf balls. Inside the lab, we had the ideal conditions to recreate the scenario with the most accidents on golf courses: The landing approach of a golf ball with an average speed of 73 km/h.
What did the implementation in the laboratory look like?
The X-Light protector is placed on a test head. A steel impactor is positioned above it at a distance of 0.5 metres. This has the shape of a golf ball and weighs 1.98 kilograms. The impactor is then dropped onto the placed X-Light Protector, releasing a nominal impact energy of 9.71 joules, which corresponds to the impact energy of a golf ball with an exact speed of 73.9 km/h. The X-Light Protector is then dropped onto the test head.
What was the result of the test?
The measurements taken showed a force transmission of 10.39 kilo-Newtons (kN). These forces would act on the head if it were hit by a golf ball. For a better classification of the result, a look at the European standard for occupational safety and health helps. This standard specifies a maximum force transmission of max. 15 kN for head protection that complies with the standard.* The X-Light protector absorbs the impact to such an extent that the maximum force transmission is below this specified maximum value.

The lab test
Force development without and with X-Light protector.
The graph of the two curves shows that not only the transmitted forces vary greatly with and without the protector. The X-Light protector also has an effect on how the incoming force is dissipated.
The almost vertical upward curve (white) shows a maximum force impact within a short time. If the golf ball hits the body without protection, a high punctual force is applied. This has a direct effect on the head and can lead to far-reaching damage.
The flat rising curve (orange) reaches its maximum later. Thanks to the protector, the impacting force of the golf ball is already dissipated and acts on the body over a longer period of time. The X-Light protector thus not only protects the head by weakening the force itself, but also reduces it in a more body-friendly way over a longer period of time.
